Limassol, Cyprus. XM Group has committed €5 million to support families and communities affected by the 2025 wildfires in the Limassol district, including more than €1 million for infrastructure projects in four villages.
The company said the initiative includes immediate assistance for households whose homes were destroyed, followed by regeneration projects selected by local communities.
Immediate response
Dr Stavri Morti, Co-Managing Director of XM Group, said the company acted quickly to assist people who had lost their homes and to support local communities during the crisis.
XM Group, founded in Cyprus in 2009, said it employs about 800 people in the country and has served more than 20 million clients worldwide. The company said its shareholders, leadership and Corporate Social Responsibility team approved the €5 million commitment promptly, with internal departments including finance mobilised to support the response.
Community-led projects
Part of the pledged funding was distributed immediately to families whose homes were destroyed by the fires. The next phase includes four infrastructure projects in Vouni, Agios Amvrosios, Agios Therapon and Souni-Zanatzia.
XM Group said the projects, which will receive more than €1 million in funding, were identified by residents and are intended to improve living conditions, support the long-term resilience of rural communities, encourage young people to remain in the villages and attract visitors.
The company said its CSR team met residents and community leaders from the first day of the response. Architects and civil engineers were engaged to work with communities, while local authorities are co-operating on the implementation of the funded projects.
Souni-Zanatzia development
In Souni-Zanatzia, XM Group is funding a multi-purpose open space designed for recreation, sport and cultural, social and sporting events.
The development will include a children’s playground, padel courts and a café, with the aim of creating a community hub within the village’s natural setting and providing safe access for residents and visitors.
