Nicosia, Cyprus. XM Group announced the second phase of its corporate social responsibility initiative on June 30, 2026, allocating part of its €5 million relief commitment to infrastructure projects and firefighting support for Limassol communities affected by the 2025 fires. The company said the new measures are intended to support recovery and strengthen long-term resilience.
Second phase of recovery plan
After addressing immediate needs in fire-affected communities in 2025, XM Group said it is moving forward with major infrastructure projects in cooperation with local authorities. The company said the resources were allocated through a targeted, transparent and effective process.
XM Group said it will contribute more than €1 million to fund four projects in Souni-Zanatzia, Agios Amvrosios, Agios Therapontas and Vouni. According to the company, the projects are intended to help transform the villages into destinations for local and overseas tourists while also providing residents with modern and accessible spaces for socialising, sports, recreation, culture and relaxation.
Support for families and fire prevention
At the press conference, XM Co-CEO Stavri Morti said part of the €5 million pledged for restoration and revitalisation had already been distributed to families who lost their homes in the fires.
To strengthen protection against future wildfires, XM Group also announced funding for the installation of 10 portable water tanks. Chief Fire Officer of the Cyprus Fire Service Nikos Logginos said the donation includes 10 mobile water tanks, each with a capacity of 56,000 litres, to the Republic of Cyprus.
He said the contribution would enhance firefighting capabilities and improve support for ground and air forces during large wildfire operations.
Statements from officials and community representatives
Morti said Cyprus is the company’s home and that approximately 800 employees work and raise their families there. She said the company was acting out of responsibility to the country and not simply as a donor.
She also thanked community leaders for their cooperation and the Cyprus Fire Service for its response during the July 2025 fires. Morti said the projects are beginning and that XM Group will remain involved until they are handed over to the communities.
Logginos described the initiative as an act of solidarity, social responsibility and collective effort. He said recovery from a major natural disaster is not only the responsibility of government agencies but also of society as a whole.
The President of the Community Council of Agios Therapontas, Therapon Chrysostomou, said XM Group had supported residents of fire-stricken areas from the beginning. He highlighted the company’s sponsorship for a modern multipurpose centre for culture, creativity and social development in the village.
