Nicosia, Cyprus. The met office issued a yellow weather warning on Thursday for high temperatures expected during the afternoon. The warning will be in force from 2pm to 5pm.
Temperature forecast
Inland temperatures are forecast to reach 40 degrees Celsius.
Maximum temperatures are expected to reach 34C on the west coast, 37C on the remaining coastal areas and 30C in the mountains.
