Yiolou, Cyprus. The village of Yiolou and its Council will organise the 7th Almond Blossom Festival on February 15, dedicating a full day to almond blossoms, almond products, and the village’s traditional character. The event will take place from 11am onwards in the Yiolou village square in Paphos district.
Festival programme and performances
The festival will feature live music, traditional delicacies, local creatives, and exhibitions alongside almond trees in bloom. The agenda begins at 11am with songs by children from the local elementary school and kindergarten, followed by children’s dances and songs from the Avgorou Choir and Greek music performances, with public participation encouraged.
Market, workshops and village venues
A total of 32 exhibitors will set up stalls around the village square, offering local delicacies and products featuring almonds, as well as arts and crafts, cosmetics, and soaps with almond oil and almond fragrances. Two educators will run experiential workshops for children using almond blossoms, nuts and tree branches, while a painting exhibition and photo spots will also be available. The village’s churches and taverns will be open to visitors during the festival.
