Voronezh, Russia. Russian officials said overnight Ukrainian drone attacks killed two people and injured others across several regions. An oil refinery temporarily suspended operations, while Russia’s state railway operator reported damage to a passenger train.

Deaths and injuries reported

Russia’s Defence Ministry said air defence units destroyed 592 drones overnight.

Local officials said a civilian was killed and another wounded when a Ukrainian drone struck a truck in the Belgorod region. In the Perm region, which hosts a major oil refinery, Governor Dmitry Makhonin said a man was killed during a large-scale drone attack.

Ulyanovsk Governor Alexei Russkikh said eight people were injured and industrial and civilian infrastructure was damaged in an attack on the region, which hosts a major electronics plant.

Voronezh Governor Alexander Gusev said air defence forces destroyed 88 drones over the regional capital and at least six districts. Four people were injured, he said, and residential buildings, vehicles and industrial facilities were damaged.

Refinery and railway damage

Rostov Governor Yuri Slyusar said about 50 drones were destroyed over the region overnight. He said a drone attack damaged the Novoshakhtinsk oil refinery, forcing it to suspend operations temporarily, and that there were no reports of casualties.

Russia’s state railway operator said what it described as external interference damaged an electric locomotive and the first carriage of a passenger train travelling from Moscow to Tolyatti on a section of railway in the Samara region. The train driver was injured, and rail traffic on the line was suspended.

Reuters could not independently verify the reports. There was no immediate comment from Ukraine.
