Nicosia, Cyprus. ERB Asfalistiki held an information session on October 14 examining new international standards requirements for managing quality and environmental performance. The company linked the event to its work on workplace safety, prevention and ongoing improvement.

Standards and risk management

The session took place in the Ledra Auditorium at ERB Asfalistiki’s Nicosia headquarters under the title “New Requirements ISO 9001:2026 and ISO 14001:2026”.

Its organisation reflected the insurer’s long-running collaboration with the Department of Labour Inspection, which falls under the Ministry of Labour and Social Insurance, and with the Cyprus Safety and Health Association.

Paris Chrysos, a QHSE consultant and senior management systems auditor, delivered the main presentation. He outlined the key revisions and additional requirements in ISO 9001:2026 for quality management and ISO 14001:2026 for environmental management.

Chrysos also explained the standards’ significance for managing risks effectively and how management systems can help businesses strengthen their processes and improve environmental performance.

Workplace responsibility

In a statement, ERB Asfalistiki said it had consistently directed investment towards initiatives supporting prevention, safety, responsibility and ongoing improvement.

The insurer, which identifies itself as the first general insurance company in Cyprus and belongs to the Eurobank banking and insurance group, said quality, safety and responsibility were essential elements of modern business culture.

It said it would maintain investment in knowledge, prevention and ongoing improvement, with the aim of helping make working environments safer and more sustainable for everyone.

The company placed the event within its broader efforts to raise workplace awareness and encourage responsible practices.
