Location of the hotels

Although the hotels in this group are approximately 1 km apart, they are all situated in the business district of Limassol’s tourist area, within easy reach of the city centre and Cyprus’s main attractions. Many locals live in the neighbouring residential areas, and if you want not only to relax but also to immerse yourself in the life of Cypriot towns, you’d be hard-pressed to find a more suitable place. Close to the hotels, there is a large number of shops – both tourist-oriented and other types, including high-street and fashion outlets – as well as supermarkets (such as AlfaMega and Debenhams). An additional advantage of this location is that prices in the cafés here are slightly lower than, for example, in the Amatus area, where hotels such as the Four Seasons, Amatus and other 5* hotels are situated.

Food and essential items can be purchased both in the hotels and at nearby shops and kiosks, many of which are open round the clock. However, the famous carob syrup and other traditional Cypriot ‘food’ souvenirs are much cheaper to buy in the nearby supermarkets.

 Hotel beaches

The only hotel in this group to have its own beach is the 4* Crowne Plaza, situated right on the seafront. The other two hotels do not have their own beaches, but a stretch of well-maintained public beaches is situated very close by (100–200 m). The length of the coastline from the Crowne Plaza to the Kanika Panteon is approximately 1.5 km, and its width is 10–20 m. The beaches available to guests at the 3* Kanika Panteon and 3* Kapetanios hotels are just across the road, and it takes no more than 5 minutes to walk there.

The beaches at all hotels in this group are sandy and pebbly, with a gentle slope, pebbles at the water’s edge and sand in the deeper areas. Please note that, as a rule, the sand on Limassol’s city beaches is grey and of volcanic origin. However, according to experts, this type of sand is more beneficial to health than fine, golden-coloured sand.

Close to the hotels are the city park, Limassol’s small zoo, Makarios Street (the main shopping street), numerous banks and offices, and the Old Town is around 3–5 km away, depending on the hotel.

Features of the Crowne Plaza 4* Hotel

The location of the Crowne Plaza 4* is ideal for organising business events and conducting business visits to Limassol. Its close proximity to the city centre and its beachfront location allow for both business and leisure programmes to be organised with maximum efficiency.

In addition, the hotel boasts one of the best conference rooms (even compared to higher-category hotels) – with a separate entrance from the street and the option to expand the space by combining it with other conference rooms in the hotel.

The hotel is very popular with locals as a venue for wedding celebrations. However, this can cause some inconvenience to tourists, disrupting their peaceful, relaxing holiday.

The hotel’s cuisine is of a high standard, and the open-air café on the terrace allows guests to forget their worries and enjoy the magnificent sea views.

Among the hotel’s drawbacks are a modest entertainment programme and the lack of a dedicated programme or play areas for children, as well as the small indoor swimming pool. It is worth noting that the ‘Inlandview’ rooms do not have balconies, smoking is prohibited in these rooms, and guests may be disturbed by noise from the promenade near the hotel.

On the other hand, the hotel is ideal for active holidaymakers who do not wish to spend most of their time in their room, and for business travellers organising business events or planning a stay in Limassol for business visits. In terms of value for money, the hotel is one of the best options for organising business conferences and seminars.

Features of the Kanika Panteon 3* and Kapetanios 3* hotels

The hotels are situated 1 km apart but are very similar in many respects. Both are suitable for budget holidays in Cyprus or for organising budget MICE events. Furthermore, they are ideal for accommodating groups of children or specialised English language study groups visiting Cyprus. Their city-centre location makes it much easier to arrange transport to English language schools, as well as to organise lessons directly at the hotel.

Hotel guests and event participants can organise their own leisure activities in the immediate vicinity of the hotel. Free Wi-Fi is available on the hotel premises.

Another highlight of the Kanika Panteon 3* hotel is its heated outdoor swimming pool – the only one of its kind at a three-star hotel in Limassol.

Among the hotel’s drawbacks, the following are worth noting: the lack of an entertainment programme; a very limited choice of restaurants on the hotel premises (although there are plenty of cafés and top-class restaurants at various price points in the vicinity); and somewhat outdated room facilities.
