Charred body found in burning vehicle in Avgorou

Avgorou, Cyprus. A charred body was found inside a burning vehicle on a dirt road in Avgorou on Saturday, police said. The identity of the deceased and the circumstances of the death had not been established.

Emergency response

Police were informed of the incident at around 10am.

Members of the Famagusta police department and the fire brigade went to the scene and extinguished the fire, finding the body inside the vehicle.

Investigation underway

A forensic doctor was expected to examine the scene.

Police investigations are ongoing.
