Car crash in Ayia Napa damages gas cylinder, causing leak

Ayia Napa, Cyprus. A car crash in the early hours of Tuesday damaged a gas cylinder and caused a gas leak, the fire brigade said. Firefighters secured the scene before police took over.

Fire brigade response

The fire brigade received a report of the gas leak at 4.48am.

Firefighters followed all prescribed procedures and safely handled the incident, the service said. The gas cylinder was then handed over to the private company to which it belonged.

Police take over

Police subsequently took control of the scene.
