Nicosia, Cyprus. The labour ministry on Friday announced plans to hire 45 fixed-term employees to support the implementation of pension reform, which it aims to begin at the start of next year.

The posts will be offered for periods of up to 28 months, with staff assigned to Social Insurance Service offices in Nicosia and elsewhere in Cyprus.


Positions and placements

The recruitment includes five social insurance officer positions, paid under civil service salary scales A8, A10 and A11.

Applicants for these positions must hold a university degree and will be placed at Social Insurance Service offices in Nicosia.

A further 40 assistant insurance officer positions will be filled under salary scales A2, A5 and A7. These employees will be assigned to Social Insurance Service offices throughout Cyprus according to operational needs.

Salary scales

Under the civil service income scale, entry-level A1 remuneration ranges from €15,100 to €17,200 annually, or from €1,322 to €1,644 per month.

At scale A8, annual salaries range from €24,500 to €45,800, with monthly pay between €2,101 and €3,818.

At the highest A16 scale, annual salaries range from €71,000 to €99,200, corresponding to monthly earnings of €6,768 to €8,266.
