Vienna, Austria. The Limassol-based SynerJoy Choir represented Cyprus at the 15th World Peace Choral Festival, performing at venues including the United Nations Headquarters and the Golden Hall of the Musikverein.

International representation

Founded in 2024, the choir was invited to take part in the festival as part of its aim to bring people together through music.

“Music is a universal language that needs no translation,” said Victoria Kotovich, founder and director of SynerJoy Centre. “From the very beginning, our choir was envisioned as an international community in which everyone could feel like part of one big family.”

Diverse membership

The choir has more than 30 singers from Cyprus, Ukraine, Russia, Belarus, Greece, Germany, Switzerland and other countries. Members have different backgrounds, languages and life experiences and share an interest in singing.

A choir representative said Cyprus had become the members’ home, making it especially meaningful for the group to represent the country’s culture on an international stage.

SynerJoy Centre

SynerJoy was founded in Limassol in 2024 as an international centre for music, arts and creativity. It brings together more than 350 students and dozens of teachers from different nationalities.

The organisation provides education in music, theatre, dance and visual arts, while developing cultural projects linking Cyprus with the wider world. The SYNERJOY Choir is among its latest initiatives.
