A group of Nicosia residents is concerned about the fact that the Eleftheria Sq. will be open for traffic. They have projected a slogan on the neighboring building to show their objection.
The residents said that the square must not be converted to a road, but must be preserved as a place for public meetings. In their statement, the write that “The Eleftheria Sq is a place where residents assemble together for recreation, kids are playing, its a venue for various festivals and other events”.
The activists have already organised a petition in order to protect the square from traffic.
