Stage One Theatre to present Dirty Dusting in Emba

Emba, Cyprus. Stage One Theatre will present Dirty Dusting, a comedy by Ed Waugh and Trevor Wood, on October 1, 2 and 3 at its venue in Emba, Paphos.

Directed by Doug Craig, the English-language production follows three elderly cleaners who devise a plan to supplement their redundancy payments after being told they will be replaced by younger workers.

Comedy production

Dirty Dusting centres on Gladys, Olive and Elsie, three cleaning ladies facing redundancy because of their age. After a wrong number reaches a telephone in an office they are cleaning, they set up a new business venture in an attempt to get rich quickly.

The characters seek to keep their activities secret from their manager Dave, as well as their husbands, children and grandchildren.

The production combines comedy, including saucy one-liners and double entendres, with themes of ageism, workplace bullying and friendship.

West End Weekend auditions

Stage One Theatre will also hold auditions on October 11, 2026, at 4.30pm for its West End Weekend, scheduled for March 5, 6 and 7, 2027.
