Bank of Cyprus adds real-time merchant location feature for card payments

Nicosia, Cyprus. Bank of Cyprus has introduced a new feature that allows cardholders to view the location of merchants in real time for every payment made through the bank’s cards. The enhancement is available through the BoC Mobile App and Internet Banking.

Transaction details expanded

According to the bank, the new functionality is intended to make payments more transparent, easier to identify and simpler to verify. It said the enriched transaction history gives customers a more complete picture of each movement on their accounts.

Merchant information displayed

Users can now view the merchant’s name through a recognisable description instead of codes, making it easier to identify the business involved in a transaction. They can also see the merchant’s logo, providing immediate visual confirmation of the company where the payment was made.

Location shown on integrated map

Customers also have access to location details, with the exact transaction point displayed through an integrated map.

Bank cites Snowdrop Solutions technology

Katerina Economidou, director of cards services at the Bank of Cyprus, said the institution is using the technology of Snowdrop Solutions, a company trusted by Google, to improve the customer experience.

“We are transforming every transaction into instantly recognisable information, offering our customers an experience that meets the needs of the modern digital era,” Economidou said.
