Major fire in the northern part of the island
Fire started in Morfou on Sunday evening. From Kapouti picnic site the fire spread further to the north, towards Kormakitis village. The situation was made difficult by strong wind and abnormal hot weather.
Administration of occupied territory asked for help from British bases and Turkish officials.
