Speaking after a meeting with acting Paphos mayor Angelos Onesiforos, Myrianthous said efforts would be made to identify the most appropriate location for the shelter, aiming to provide a definitive solution to the management of stray animals in the area.
A state-owned plot in the Anarita community was initially selected as a possible location for the provincial shelter. The proposal, however, faced strong opposition from the Paphos community union and the local authority.
Myrianthous said current efforts were focused on removing possible obstacles to allow the project to proceed as soon as possible. He also left open the possibility of selecting an alternative site.
