Nicosia, Cyprus. Twelve people were arrested during targeted police operations on Monday night, while officers also filed 227 complaints after inspecting vehicles and checking drivers and passengers.
The arrests were linked to illegal residence, burglary, theft, stabbing and causing actual bodily harm.
Overnight operations
During the overnight operations, police stopped and inspected 446 vehicles and checked 574 drivers and passengers.
Complaints filed
A total of 227 complaints were filed, including 66 for exceeding the speed limit, one for drink driving and one for driving under the influence of drugs.
Arrests made
Police said the 12 arrests were made as part of the targeted operations and involved offences including illegal residence, burglary, theft, stabbing and causing actual bodily harm.
