The interior ministry said residents of Timi, Anarita and Mandria, as well as those in Ormideia, Xylofagou and Xylotymvou, have been proactively informed of temporary shelter points in case evacuation becomes necessary. School closures in Akrotiri
The education ministry said schools in Akrotiri will remain closed for the rest of the week. The closure affects the nursery school, primary school and the Akrotiri Environmental Training Centre, covering all teachers, staff and students.
