Alpha Bank Cyprus announced its support as a strategic partner for the national awareness campaign “Proper Use of Medicines,” aimed at strengthening public understanding and responsible behaviour on medicine use. The campaign is organised by the Doctors Information and Education Group under the presidency of Professor Loizos G. Loizou.
Campaign launch and objectives
The initiative was officially presented during a press conference at the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry, where speakers highlighted the importance of proper medicine use for health protection, patient safety and prevention. Organisers said the campaign aims to enhance awareness and promote a responsible attitude among citizens towards medicine use.
Planned actions and long-term focus
An integrated programme of actions was presented, including the production of short informational videos conveying key messages, as well as lectures, awareness events and public interventions in cooperation with scientific and social bodies. The campaign’s long-term nature was also emphasised, with the aim of gradually shaping a more stable culture of responsible medicine use across society.

As part of its support, Alpha Bank Cyprus said it will contribute to wider dissemination of the campaign’s key messages using its communication channels, including social media platforms. Chief executive officer Miltos Michaelas said the bank supports initiatives that strengthen prevention, knowledge and responsible attitudes towards critical public health issues, adding that proper medicine use is linked to safety, quality of life and the overall well-being of society.
