Nicosia, Cyprus. Rainfall in April reached 183 per cent above the average for this time of year by Wednesday morning, the met service said. Most stations recorded rainfall above normal averages for the month.
April rainfall by station
The met department said rainfall measured at all stations exceeded normal averages for April, except at the Athalassa station in Nicosia, where it stood at 94 per cent.
Athienou recorded the highest rainfall relative to normal, reaching 316 per cent above normal since April 1. Frenaros followed at 262 per cent, and Xylotymbou at 255 per cent.
Prodromos received the highest precipitation level, with 135.4 millimetres recorded.
Rainfall since October 1, 2025
Rainfall recorded from October 1, 2025 until Wednesday reached 112 per cent above normal for the same period, ranging from 135 per cent in Polis to 1,019.4 millimetres in Stavros tis Psokas.
