Avgorou, Cyprus. The 12th Pancyprian Potato Festival of Avgorou will take place on July 25 at the Avgorou Municipal Stadium, featuring local food, agricultural exhibitions and live music.
Food and agricultural displays
The festival will offer free tastings of hot and cold potato-based dishes. Food stalls will also serve kleftiko, souvla, spiral potatoes, loukoumades, ice cream and crêpes.
An exhibition at the municipal stadium will present potato varieties, cultivation practices, agricultural machinery, tractors and traditional farming exhibits. Local producers and agricultural professionals will operate themed stands.
Programme and performances
Doors will open at 6 p.m. with a two-hour live broadcast by Zenith FM, featuring radio producers Rikkos Ioannou and Marianna.
A live cooking demonstration with audience participation will follow 30 minutes later, during which sweet mini potato pancakes will be prepared and offered for tasting.
The evening programme will include concerts by Katy Garbi, Dionysis Schinas and Marseaux.
