Bank of Cyprus updates privacy statement to align with EU data protection rules

Nicosia, Cyprus. Bank of Cyprus on Tuesday announced that it has revised its privacy statement as part of a broader strategy to ensure the comprehensive protection of personal data. The update was introduced to align with Regulation (EU) 2016/679, the General Data Protection Regulation, and the corresponding national law on the protection of natural persons during data processing.


Scope of the revised statement

The revised privacy statement applies to the bank’s customers and potential customers. It also covers their representatives, as well as the beneficiaries of legal entity customers and potential customers.

Purpose of the update

The bank said the revised statement is intended to provide essential information on the security, safety, and general use of data within the institution. It also explains how personal data is processed and how legal rights are protected.
