Xylofagou, Cyprus. British bases police said on Tuesday that further examinations are required before the cause of death of two young boys found dead in a vehicle can be formally determined. The announcement followed the completion of post-mortem examinations.
Post-mortem findings
In a brief statement, a Sovereign Base Areas police spokesman said that “following the post-mortem examination, the cause of death will require further examinations”.
Next court hearing
Authorities also confirmed that the next court hearing has been scheduled for Thursday at 12pm.
Detention of parents
The father and stepmother of the two boys, aged 10 and 8, were remanded in custody for three days on Monday after the SBA court found sufficient grounds to keep them in detention while investigations continue.
