Beijing, China. China has condemned the killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, by U.S. and Israeli forces, calling for an immediate end to military operations.
Foreign Ministry statement
According to a report by AFP, the Chinese Foreign Ministry described the assassination as a “serious violation of Iran’s sovereignty and security.” The ministry said the act was “an insult to the objectives and principles of the UN Charter and the basic norms of international relations.”
Call for cease of operations
In an official statement, the ministry said China “strongly opposes and strongly condemns this,” and renewed its calls for an “immediate cessation of military operations” across the region.
