Christodoulides calls Gesy key social achievement, urges continuous evaluation

Nicosia, Cyprus. President Nikos Christodoulides said on Friday that the national health scheme, Gesy, is among the country’s most important social achievements and should be continuously evaluated.


Meeting with Health Insurance Organisation

Arriving at the offices of the Health Insurance Organisation (HIO), Christodoulides said the discussion would focus on issues related to transferring patients abroad for treatment.

Aircraft for medical emergencies

Christodoulides said the cabinet on Thursday approved the use of all Cyprus National Guard aircraft and the government’s jet for medical emergencies.

Government focus on health services

He said the government aims to strengthen and improve health services for the public, adding that it will continue investing in the sector, which he described as an investment rather than an expenditure.
