Nicosia, Cyprus. President Nikos Christodoulides on Monday received House speaker Annita Demetriou at the presidential palace and congratulated her on her recent re-election. Both officials expressed optimism about continued cooperation between the executive and legislative branches.

Christodoulides said the challenges and problems are shared and that cooperation would continue for the benefit of citizens. He also expressed hope that the fruitful cooperation between the executive and legislative branches would continue.
Demetriou highlights pending work
Demetriou likewise expressed optimism about future cooperation with the presidential palace. She said there were major challenges, reforms and pending bills, and assured that she would do everything in her power to address them, representing all her colleagues and acting on a practical level.
