Temperatures are forecast to reach around 32C in the southwest and on the west coast, about 34C on the remaining coasts and around 29C in the higher mountains.
Winds will initially be mainly from the southeast to southwest at 3 to 4 Beaufort. They will gradually shift to mainly southwest to northwest and strengthen to moderate to strong along the coast, reaching up to 5 Beaufort.
The sea will be slightly rough in the west and north, becoming rough later in the south and east.
Night and weekend conditions
Cloudy conditions are expected overnight, with temperatures falling to around 23C inland and on the coast and about 18C in the higher mountains.
Winds will mainly blow from the south to northwest at up to 4 Beaufort, gradually easing to 3 Beaufort inland. The sea will be slightly rough to rough.
Cloud cover may increase at times during the weekend, with isolated afternoon showers possible mainly in eastern parts of the island and higher mountain areas. Saturday is expected to be particularly windy.
Temperatures are forecast to decline on Saturday, remain at similar levels on Sunday and rise again on Monday.
