Nicosia, Cyprus. A 63-year-old cyclist died after his bicycle collided with a car at a junction in Nicosia on Tuesday afternoon, police said. The victim was identified as George Kalligas, 63, from Strovolos.
Collision investigation
Police said the collision occurred at about 3.15pm while Kalligas was cycling on Agias Marinas Street.
Under circumstances under investigation, his bicycle collided with a car driven by a 40-year-old woman at the junction with Strovolou Avenue.
Hospital transfer
Police officers attended the scene to conduct examinations. An ambulance took Kalligas to Nicosia General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Nicosia traffic police are continuing their investigation into the fatal collision.
