Британская база

The trade unions of Greek- and Turkish-Cypriots, who are working at the British military bases in Cyprus are expressing their desire to keep their working places.

The workers have declared that “the Management does not adhere to the signed agreements and is trying to reduce the benefits and bonuses by various methods. Moreover, the Brits are intending to privatise the services and fire some employees, who were working there for many years.”

The Sec and Toursen trade-unions are representing about 120 people out of 1300 employed at the British bases. The employees are also looking for support from the government and British authorities.
