Cyprus advises citizens against travel to eight more Middle East countries

Nicosia, Cyprus. Cyprus’ foreign ministry on Saturday advised Cypriot citizens against all travel to eight additional countries in the Middle East. The ministry also urged Cypriots currently in Iran to depart.


Expanded travel advisories

The ministry advised Cypriots to avoid all travel to the United Arab Emirates, Iraq, Israel, Qatar, Kuwait, Lebanon, Bahrain, and Saudi Arabia.

Advisories against all travel to Iran and Gaza were already in place. The advisory regarding the Palestinian territories was revised on Saturday to recommend against all travel to the West Bank.

Guidance for Cypriots in the region

The foreign ministry invited Cypriots located in the region to register their presence on the Connect2CY online platform. It also provided contact details for Cypriot embassies in the region for citizens who may require assistance.
