Nicosia, Cyprus. Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos on Monday stressed the importance of dialogue during a meeting with Kazakhstan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Alibek Bakayev in Nicosia. Kombos said the talks reaffirmed dialogue, stability and mutually beneficial cooperation.
Dialogue and bilateral relations
Kombos said he and Bakayev discussed bilateral relations between Cyprus and Kazakhstan and opportunities to deepen engagement between the two countries. He added that President Nikos Christodoulides is reportedly set to visit Kazakhstan in the near future.
EU presidency and broader issues
Kombos said the meeting also covered Cyprus’ term as the holder of the Council of the European Union’s rotating presidency and relations between the EU and Kazakhstan. He added that they discussed current geopolitical developments.
