Cyprus featured in ISSA-C video on Vision Zero workplace safety strategy

Limassol, Cyprus. Cyprus has been featured in a new international video by the International Social Security Association’s Construction Section (ISSA-C), showcasing workplace safety, health and accident prevention practices under the global Vision Zero strategy.

The video was first officially screened at an international conference in Limassol on July 2 and 3, 2026.

Vision Zero examples

According to the Cyprus Scientific and Technical Chamber (Etek), the production shows how the Vision Zero – Safety. Health. Wellbeing. campaign and its Seven Golden Rules can help prevent workplace accidents, improve occupational safety and health, and strengthen a culture of prevention.

The video combines examples from Cyprus with case studies from other countries to demonstrate how the international strategy is applied in practice.

Leadership focus

The Cypriot examples place particular emphasis on the campaign’s first Golden Rule, “Take leadership – demonstrate commitment”, as a basis for creating safer workplaces.

Etek said the video’s central message is that active leadership commitment is essential to creating safe and healthy workplaces and achieving zero workplace accidents.

Role of architects and engineers

The video is introduced by Etek president Constantinos Constanti, who highlights the role of architects and engineers in safeguarding health and safety throughout all stages of a project’s life cycle.

Constanti said responsibility for health and safety extends beyond compliance with technical requirements and is directly linked to protecting human life, health and wellbeing.

Conference screening

The video received its first official screening during the international conference, “From Risk to Resilience: Achieving Vision Zero with AI and Sustainable Construction”, held in Limassol on July 2 and 3, 2026.
