Nicosia, Cyprus. A seasonal low pressure system will continue to affect Cyprus, bringing mostly sunny conditions and temperatures well above seasonal averages through the middle of the week.


Monday forecast

Monday will be mostly sunny, with southwesterly to northwesterly winds initially light before becoming light to moderate at force 3 to 4 Beaufort. Along the south coast, afternoon winds will strengthen to force 4 to 5 Beaufort.

The sea will be slight. Temperatures are expected to reach around 40C inland, 34C along most coasts, 31C on the west and southwest coast, and 30C in the higher mountains.

Overnight conditions

Skies will remain mostly clear overnight, although patches of low cloud are expected to develop later along coastal areas.

Winds will ease to light southwesterly to northwesterly breezes, while the sea will be calm to slight. Temperatures will fall to around 21C inland, 23C on the coast and 19C in the mountains.

Outlook

Mostly sunny conditions are forecast to continue on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Temperatures are expected to remain well above the seasonal average, with the heat persisting for several more days.
