Nicosia, Cyprus. The share of ICT specialists in total employment in Cyprus fell to 4.9% in 2025 from 5.0% the previous year, according to Eurostat. Across the European Union, 10.45 million people were employed as ICT specialists, accounting for 5.0% of all employed people.
EU trend
Eurostat said the share of ICT specialists in the bloc rose by 0.1 percentage points over the last year and by 1.5 percentage points since 2015. Growth slowed in recent years, after stronger annual increases in 2020 and 2021.
Annual changes
The annual growth rate stood at 4.0% between 2022 and 2023, 4.5% between 2023 and 2024, and 2.6% between 2024 and 2025.
Member state rankings
Sweden recorded the highest share of ICT specialists in total employment in 2025 at 8.9%, followed by Luxembourg at 8.7% and Finland at 7.8%. The lowest shares were reported in Greece at 2.5%, Romania at 2.7% and Italy at 3.8%.
