Cyprus industrial output edges up 0.1 per cent in April 2026, matching euro area and EU

Nicosia, Cyprus. Industrial output in Cyprus rose by 0.1 per cent in April 2026, matching the modest monthly increase recorded across the euro area and the European Union. Eurostat said the figure pointed to a stabilisation in industrial activity after earlier fluctuations in the year.


Cyprus monthly performance

According to Eurostat’s first estimates, Cyprus followed its 0.1 per cent increase in April with stronger growth of 1.6 per cent in March 2026. The sector had contracted by 2.3 per cent in February 2026 after recording growth of 1.6 per cent in January 2026.

Euro area and EU trends

Across the euro area, seasonally adjusted industrial production increased by 0.1 per cent in April compared with March 2026, down from growth of 0.4 per cent in the previous month.

The European Union also recorded a monthly rise of 0.1 per cent, compared with 0.8 per cent growth in March 2026.

On an annual basis, industrial production in April 2026 compared with April 2025 increased by 0.3 per cent in the euro area and by 0.9 per cent in the EU.

Sector breakdown

Within the euro area, production of intermediate goods rose by 0.8 per cent, while durable consumer goods increased by 1.0 per cent and non-durable consumer goods climbed by 1.7 per cent.

Production of energy fell by 0.4 per cent, while capital goods declined by 0.5 per cent over the same period.

Across the European Union, intermediate goods production increased by 0.7 per cent and non-durable consumer goods output grew by 0.9 per cent.
