Cyprus industrial production index falls 2.4% year-on-year in February, Cystat reports

Nicosia, Cyprus. Cyprus’ industrial production index fell 2.4% year-on-year in February to 108.4 units, based on 2021=100, according to the state statistical service Cystat. The January–February 2026 period rose 0.1% compared with the same two months of the previous year.


Sector performance

Manufacturing decreased 1.2% compared with February 2025. Electricity supply recorded a 12.7% drop, while mining and quarrying declined 2.1%. Water supply and materials recovery increased 4.7%.

Manufacturing branches

Within manufacturing, basic metals and fabricated metal products rose 5.5% year-on-year. Refined petroleum, chemicals and pharmaceutical products increased 3.3%, and wood and cork products rose 2.4%.

Furniture and machinery repair recorded a combined contraction of 8.0%. Motor vehicles and transport equipment fell 7.4%, while textiles and leather decreased 5.4%.
