Cyprus Museum to host upgraded exhibition presentation and guided tours in Nicosia

Nicosia, Cyprus. The Cyprus Museum will host a series of events on Saturday to mark the museum under Cyprus’ presidency of the EU Council, after the antiquities department and deputy ministry of culture postponed the initial event.

Presentation on upgraded permanent exhibition

The day will begin with a presentation on the upgrading of the Cyprus Museum’s permanent exhibition at 4pm. The presentation will be addressed by Deputy Minister of Culture Vasiliki Kassianidou and the director of the antiquities department, Georgos Georgiou.

Additions and improvements to the permanent collection

The museum’s permanent collection has been enhanced with significant finds from archaeological research conducted through the years, as well as antiquities that have been repatriated to Cyprus in recent years. The exhibition has also been updated with new texts and other graphics, improved lighting, and upgraded display cases.

Guided tours and evening reception

Three guided tours will follow, with two tours in Greek at 5pm and 7.30pm and one tour in English at 5.30pm. A reception will be held in the evening in the Museum Garden.

Event details

The events will take place on February 7 at the Cyprus Museum in Nicosia from 4pm to 11pm, with free entry.
