Nicosia, Cyprus. Online shopping activity in Cyprus rose sharply in 2025, with Skroutz reporting an 83% year-on-year increase in orders to roughly half a million and a 72% rise in local users, according to its annual review.
Order growth and cross-border reach
The company’s data, released on Thursday, pointed to rising consumer confidence in cross-border e-commerce, with Cypriot businesses also expanding sales abroad. Skroutz said 83% of users served were located in Greece.
Search trends and top purchase categories
Technology and fashion led user interest, with mobile phones the most searched item, followed by sneakers and athletic shoes. The most popular categories by completed orders were sneakers, men’s fragrances, nutritional supplements, mobile phone cases and women’s fragrances.
Spending, frequency and mobile usage
The average order value reached €78, up 4%, while the typical Cypriot user placed almost two purchases per month. More than half of transactions, 54%, were made through the mobile application.
Payments and delivery infrastructure
Cards accounted for 90% of transactions, with Revolut representing 8%. Skroutz said its logistics infrastructure expanded as Skroutz Last Mile (SLM) Cyprus began operating and handled 93% of orders on the island.
Parcel lockers and expansion plans
Consumers increasingly used parcel lockers, with Skroutz Points introduced in September 2025 and accounting for 27% of deliveries in early 2026. The network includes 36 points and 95 lockers, and the company said it plans to expand to 100 locations to improve geographical coverage and flexibility for users.
