Cyprus petroleum product sales edge up 0.1% in February 2026, Cystat reports

Nicosia, Cyprus. Total petroleum product sales in Cyprus reached 111,922 tonnes in February 2026, a 0.1% increase compared with February 2025, the Cyprus Statistical Service (Cystat) reported on Friday. The figures reflect market conditions before the escalation of the conflict involving Iran, which has since driven significant increases in fuel prices.


Year-on-year changes by product category

Cystat recorded strong growth in the provisions of marine gasoil, which surged by 133.7%, and aviation kerosene, which rose by 24.9%. Increases were also reported for asphalt, up 69.5%, motor gasoline, up 5.0%, and road diesel, up 0.7%.

Declines in other fuel products

Significant decreases were recorded in light fuel oil, down 54.0%, and heavy fuel oil, down 28.0%. Further declines were seen in kerosene, down 48.0%, heating gasoil, down 37.0%, and liquefied petroleum gases, down 27.8%.

Filling station sales

Sales from filling stations fell by 5.8% to 54,016 tonnes.

Monthly comparison

On a monthly basis, total petroleum product sales in February 2026 decreased by 5.5% compared with January 2026. This included a 6.1% drop in aviation kerosene provisions and a 0.8% decrease in motor gasoline sales, while marine gasoil provisions rose by 2.5% and road diesel sales increased by 1.6%.
