Nicosia, Cyprus. Cyprus’ petroleum product sales fell 8.0 per cent year on year to 129,479 tonnes in June 2026, according to the Statistical Service, amid higher fuel prices and geopolitical uncertainty linked to the Middle East conflict.

The Statistical Service (Cystat) reported total petroleum product sales of 129,479 tonnes in June 2026, down 8.0 per cent from the same month a year earlier.
The fuel market has continued to adjust to the effects of higher prices and geopolitical uncertainty following the conflict in the Middle East.
Cyprus recorded one of the highest annual increases in fuel prices in the European Union, despite retail prices easing in recent weeks from peaks triggered by tensions between Israel and Iran.
Eurostat data showed that fuels and lubricants for personal transport in Cyprus were 18.6 per cent more expensive in June 2026 than a year earlier, placing the country among EU member states with the steepest annual increases.
Bank of Cyprus award
Bank of Cyprus announced on Monday that international financial publication Global Finance named it Best Sub-Custodian Bank in Cyprus for 2026.

CFA Society Cyprus announced on Monday the election of a new board of directors following its annual general meeting.
