Nicosia, Cyprus. Cyprus recorded the highest monthly increase in industrial producer prices in the European Union in May 2026, according to data released by Eurostat. Producer prices in Cyprus rose by 3.6 per cent from April 2026, ahead of all other member states.
Euro area and EU monthly trends
Industrial producer prices in both the euro area and the EU increased by 0.2 per cent in May 2026. In April 2026, the monthly increase had been 0.7 per cent in the euro area and 0.8 per cent in the EU.
Annual comparison
Compared with May 2025, industrial producer prices in May 2026 rose by 5.9 per cent in the euro area and by 5.7 per cent in the EU.
Sectoral changes
Within the euro area, intermediate goods increased by 1.4 per cent, while energy prices fell by 1.0 per cent on a monthly basis. Capital goods rose by 0.2 per cent and durable consumer goods by 0.3 per cent, while non-durable consumer goods decreased by 0.1 per cent.
Total industry prices excluding energy increased by 0.7 per cent in both the euro area and the EU. The EU recorded the same sectoral pattern, with intermediate goods up by 1.4 per cent and energy down by 1.0 per cent.
Other member states
After Cyprus, the largest monthly increases were recorded in Ireland, at 2.8 per cent, and the Netherlands, at 1.9 per cent.
