Cyprus property, fuel and cooperation developments reported in latest updates

Nicosia, Cyprus. Cyprus recorded a record year for the property market in 2025, while rental prices in Nicosia continued to rise. Fuel prices are expected to fall within the next 10 days, and Cyprus and Italy are seeking to deepen cooperation in trade, energy, technology and regional connectivity.

Property market records

The Cyprus property market reached a total transaction value of €6.5 billion in 2025, up 8 per cent, across 25,600 transactions. Building permits rose 9 per cent in number and 28 per cent in value.

Rental prices rise

The annual rental analysis from the department of lands and surveys, covering September 2024 to September 2025, showed that the average rent for a three-bedroom apartment in Nicosia increased from €950 to €1,300 in a year. A one-bedroom apartment in Engomi rose from €625 to €725 over the same period.

Fuel prices expected to ease

Fuel prices in Cyprus are expected to fall within the next 10 days after a recent drop in international oil prices, petrol station owners’ association chairman Savvas Prokopiou said on Thursday.

Prokopiou told the Cyprus News Agency that fuel prices had moved unevenly in recent days, with fluctuations in both oil and petrol. He said the price of oil decreased slightly last week while the price of gasoline increased slightly.

He added that international oil prices had recently recorded a sharp decline of around $10 to $15, although such movements usually take time to be reflected in the Cypriot market.

Cyprus and Italy cooperation

Deputy Minister to the President Irene Piki said this week that Cyprus and Italy can act as bridges of stability and economic interconnection between Europe, the Middle East and North Africa. She said the two countries are seeking to deepen cooperation in trade, energy, technology and regional connectivity.
