Larnaca, Cyprus. A total of 36 commercial flights in and out of Cyprus were cancelled on Wednesday as the war in the Middle East continued to disrupt regional airspace. Most cancellations affected Larnaca airport and routes to and from the Middle East.
Cancellations concentrated at Larnaca
All but four of the cancellations concerned flights in and out of Larnaca, Cyprus’ primary airport, and mostly involved services to and from the Middle East.
Routes affected and services still operating
Multiple flights connecting Larnaca with Israeli cities Tel Aviv and Haifa, as well as services to Doha and Beirut, were cancelled. Middle East Airlines’ services to and from Beirut remained operational.
British Airways disruption on Larnaca-London route
British Airways’ evening flight from Larnaca to London Heathrow will not depart. The airline had restored only one of its two daily services on the route following cancellations after the outbreak of the war at the beginning of the month.
