Nicosia, Cyprus. Temperatures are expected to reach 40 degrees Celsius on Sunday, meteorologist Matthaios Papadakis said, with hot conditions forecast to continue through Wednesday.
Heat warning expected
Papadakis told the Cyprus News Agency that a yellow weather warning for high temperatures is expected to be issued for Sunday.
He said temperatures are currently above average for the time of year, although the conditions do not yet officially constitute a heatwave.
Humidity and summer outlook
Humidity is generally low, except during the night in coastal areas, Papadakis said.
He added that summer so far has been manageable rather than severe, but higher temperatures are expected in the coming weeks.
