Cyprus to host European Banking Federation meetings in Limassol

Limassol, Cyprus. The Association of Cyprus Banks (ACB) said Cyprus will host the European Banking Federation’s (EBF) official meetings this week in Limassol. The meetings are set to bring together senior banking executives and European financial leaders.

Programme and meetings

The ACB said the programme includes two strategic sessions that it said will shape the direction of the European banking industry.

The executive committee meeting is scheduled for May 21, 2026, and comprises the general directors of banking associations from across Europe.

The board of directors meeting will follow on May 22, 2026, and is the federation’s highest decision-making body, made up of the chairpersons of national banking associations.

Participants and logistics

The gatherings are expected to attract top officials and senior figures from the European financial sector, with arrivals beginning from May 20, 2026.

The ACB said it has taken full responsibility for organising the event, including designing the programme and handling hosting, reception and transportation for participants.

Extended stays and host role

The association said many delegates are expected to extend their stay over the weekend to experience Cypriot hospitality and the country’s environment and climate.

The ACB said the choice of Cyprus as host reflects its growing role in European banking affairs and its ability to support major international events, adding that hosting the meetings further strengthens the country’s position as a reliable financial and conference hub within the region.

What impact do you think hosting these meetings could have on Cyprus’s role in European banking affairs?
