Cyprus to host major international tech summit in Nicosia in June 2026

Nicosia, Cyprus. Cyprus will host a major international tech summit in Nicosia on June 17, 2026, to help shape the European and global digital agenda. The two-day dialogue, titled Shaping the Next Digital Frontier, is being organised within the official framework of the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the European Union.


Summit venue and focus

The event will take place at the Filoxenia Conference Centre in the capital. According to the Deputy Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy, the summit comes at a critical point for Europe’s digital future and will serve as a forum for strategic dialogue on the European Union digital agenda.

Artificial intelligence on the agenda

A central topic of discussion will be the rapidly evolving field of artificial intelligence. The organisers said the gathering will provide a platform for exchange on the opportunities, challenges and policies shaping the digital age.

Speakers and participants

The summit will bring together speakers and participants from national governments, European institutions, global industry and the international academic community. Google DeepMind chief executive officer and co-founder Demis Hassabis will be among the keynote speakers.

He will be joined by European ministers, senior representatives from the European Commission, leaders of European business organisations and senior executives from the global information and communications technology sector. The agenda will focus on the opportunities and challenges arising from the rapid development of artificial intelligence.
