Cyprus tourism records 4.5 million arrivals and €3.6 billion in receipts in 2025, Eurobank analysis says

Nicosia, Cyprus. Cyprus’ tourism sector recorded all-time high arrivals and revenues in 2025, supported by real income gains and a broader mix of source markets, according to an analysis by Eurobank’s Konstantinos Vrachimis.

Record arrivals and stronger receipts growth

Total tourist arrivals reached 4.5 million in 2025, up from 4 million in 2024, representing a 12.2 per cent year-on-year increase, with momentum sustained through the final months of the year.

Cumulative tourism receipts for January to November rose to €3.6 billion, a 15.3 per cent year-on-year increase that outpaced inflation. Vrachimis said this indicates a real uplift in tourism-driven income and broader service-sector turnover.

Higher per-visitor spending supports income growth

Expenditure per person increased by 4.6 per cent, while expenditure per day rose by 9.2 per cent in the January to November 2025 period.

The analysis said the rise in revenues was not driven only by higher visitor volumes, with increased per-visitor spending also contributing to tourism-led income growth.

Seasonal pattern and wider economic effects

Monthly arrivals followed the typical seasonal pattern, rising from spring and peaking in summer, while remaining above recent years through much of the high season.

The analysis said this supported employment, fiscal receipts and corporate earnings across hospitality, transport and retail.

Source market shifts and diversification

Vrachimis said the demand mix points to greater diversification of source markets, while supply-side developments signal a structural upgrade in accessibility.

The United Kingdom remained the largest source market, though its share eased, while Israel’s contribution increased materially and Germany recorded a marginal rise.

Several European countries, including Italy, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Austria and Poland, posted double-digit increases in arrivals in 2025 compared with 2024.

Which tourism source market shift do you think will have the biggest impact on Cyprus in 2026?
