Cyprus delegation will participate in the EU summit, which takes place in Brussels. Apart from the matters of economics, security and migration, the leaders of the 27 EU countries will also discuss the situation in the Balkan states and compliance with the Malta Treaty. Mrs Theresa May, who planned to initiate the process of withdrawal from the EU is not taking part in the summit.
Earlier, Nicos Anastasiades, together with the government spokesman Nicos Christodoulides arrived to Belgium before the summit. As part of the official visit, he met with the new president of the European Parliament Mr. Antonio Tajani and chariman of the European Commission Jean-Claude Junker.
