Limassol, Cyprus. Cyprus_iT said a weekly meetup launched in Limassol in 2017 has grown into one of Cyprus’ largest recurring tech and business networking communities, recording more than 40,000 visits across its events over the past nine years.
Growth and attendance figures
The community-driven tech ecosystem said it has hosted more than 444 weekly meetups in Limassol since its establishment. Organisers said the events have attracted more than 40,280 visits from over 9,450 unique participants representing upwards of 3,020 companies.
Format and scope
The initiative, operating under the name Cyprus_iT, was founded as an informal gathering for IT specialists and later expanded into a broader platform covering technology, startups, business and networking. Organisers said the community developed through an open-access format and that meetings have continued every week for nine consecutive years. They added that the gatherings remain open to anyone interested in technology, entrepreneurship, networking and innovation.
Support for newcomers
Organisers said the platform has evolved beyond networking and now supports international professionals and their families relocating to Cyprus by helping them establish personal and professional connections and understand the local business and social environment. They said the community also provides information related to the Cyprus job market, employment opportunities, relocation matters and immigration procedures, to help specialists adapt after moving to the island.
