Nicosia, Cyprus. Telecoms provider Cyta said it secured five distinctions from Ookla for the second half of 2025, including recognition as the fastest mobile network in Cyprus for the fifth consecutive year.

Cyta said the recognitions reflected results across key performance areas, including speed, video and gaming experience, based on independent measurements from real users through the Speedtest platform.
Among the distinctions, Cyta was named Fastest Mobile Network for five years in a row, which the company said reflects the highest overall mobile speeds in Cyprus.
Cyta also received the Best Mobile Network award based on the overall Connectivity Score, which combines performance in Speed Score, Web Browsing Score and Video Streaming Score.
The company was additionally recognised as the Fastest 5G Network, citing performance on its 5G infrastructure.
Cyta received the Best Mobile Video Experience award for the quality and stability of high-definition video streaming and the Best Mobile Gaming Experience distinction for near-zero latency and smooth gaming performance.

Cyta Chief Commercial Officer George Metzakis said the awards translate for customers into stable, high performance in calls, data usage, business operations, content streaming and gaming experiences with near-zero latency.
Metzakis added that the five Ookla awards reinforce Cyta’s strategy of upgrading its networks and confirm its role in Cyprus’s digital evolution.
